A Poem which might help me make headway in my career goals
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I have two sides to my personality in my writing
I can be austere but sometimes, I give into meandering ways
Being a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful, natural figure,
I thought that my ace card would be queen
But it turns out that it is not enough to draw a flush
The ace card does not fit in with the apparent patrons of my work
Or could I be wrong for they are men with strict work code and ethics
But I plead intensely, I need you so bad, I need you so bad, I need you so bad
To publish and pay me or further my career interests
With a serious assessment of my academic record
If I had to communicate with "hieroglyphics" to make my request
I thought I would choose flowers to make my point and it would be two big hydrangeas
And a beautiful red rose with lush greenery
But I realize that this sort of symbolism may or may not achieve the needful
In the same breath, I ask myself if the Space Shuttle Endeavour made of neurons
That I have launched in each of their direction
Made its journey into the telescope of their minds.

Very creative with just the right amount of humour. Thoroughly enjoyed this write, Gayathri!
