In shadows cast by tender dreams,
Where whispered hopes can hardly flow,
I trace the lines of silent schemes,
Yet find my heart too weak to show.
You walk through gardens, bright with light,
While I remain in muted plight,
Your laughter blooms like spring's embrace,
While sorrow veils my heart's own face.
I watch you dance beneath the stars,
Each twirl ignites a painful flare;
My soul, it aches from silent wars,
For love unnamed is hard to bear.
A thousand words I dare not speak
As longing paints my world in gray.
Though every look, it feels so sweet,
The words of love are kept at bay.
Each fleeting glance, a chance to yearn,
Yet I, with heavy heart, refrain,
For in this game, I wish to learn,
That love unclaimed can still bring pain.
Beneath the moon's soft, silver glow,
I linger here, a ghostly sigh,
With every breath, my heart does know,
That love unkempt must learn to fly.
So here I stand, a shadowed truth,
In dreams I weave what cannot be.
But though my heart maintains its youth,
My soul shall dwell in memory.
