This is how I feel after writing... Just like a child/whose love is now a faithful guide. Imagery, metaphor, simile... Well used to evoke the poetic process. This is is great poem.

A FLIGHT OF BIRDS FROM HEAD TO HEART is a stunning metaphor for the poetic process - it's organic, magical, biological, comprehensive. But the prevailing metaphor associates the birth of a poem with the birth of a child and that brings in the theme of ULTIMATE VALUE. I am completely enveloped by this poem, from this night to the end of my career as a poet, this is my guiding metaphor: A POEM BORN, THAT'S PART OF YOU, LIKE FROM THE TREE, THE FRUIT IS TOO.
