There's a story now to this poem: I wrote it of one lady who had died not long before, and sent it to another splendid lady who knew her well... the second lady was deeply moved by it, recalling how those in her own family had taught her these qualities...Not long after, she died suddenly herself. Her surviving family found the poem on her computer and her response to it, and asked me if her nephew could read it as a tribute at her funeral...which he did, superbly in heartfelt fashion, and to great effect.. what a wonderful life for a poem..

Michael, you lucky lad. Lisa for a tutor. How important are those special mentors of our youth and what lasting impressions they leave behind. You have described her with great love and humility. Thank you. lol, Alison

Just read your response to Lisa Sammarco's comment. Well, she was clearly a wonderful lady. Warmly, Gina.

And the reason that the frequently repeated words 'love', 'goodness', 'truth' and 'beauty' don't sound tedious is because they communicate a new aspect of Miss X whenever they're used. Miss X, whoever she is (your mother? Sister? Wife? Daughter?) might be dead, but she clearly lives on in your heart. Warmly, Gina.

What a beautiful mark this lady obviously made on your life. She must've been quite a special person to leave such thoughts to come to mind with just the mention of her name. How nice. Sincerely, Mary
