This poem depicts a vivacious scene of a devastating sky fierce with its natural power immediately filling the readers mind with a cold dread and a level of fright with flurry of lightning, ‘a lethal rapier’….“Thunder growled and rumbled”….. People are found cocooned in safe places. The poetess feels tormented hearing the plaintive songs of the homeless…I was carried away to the spot for a while! A very commendable piece of poetry!
While reading your poem I was thinking how creatively you described the power of this great storm and then on reading your last line I felt intensely sad. This is why I love reading your poems Valsa. They really make me feel.10++++
I feel sad for the homeless reading your poem, but there is hope for you are reminding the rest. Very touching from a heart filled with kindness. Thanks Valsa-10
This is simply matchless. Even with eyes fully shut, one can feel the ferocity of the situation caused by devastating rains if he manages to listen to this poem attentively. The Nature, as well as the human beings, has its own share of miseries. Everybody is in a defensive mode but the condition of the homeless is indeed wretched one. The closing lines bring to fore the humane factors in life around us. Thank you, Valsa ji.
Yes. That last line speaks a lot and aches. What a rain it is! (10)
I heard the plaintive ballad of the homeless! A timely observation to feel the plead of the needy when adverse conditions arrive. Beautiful poem.
Though it is ballad it is plaintive in natur so wisely and attractively depicted having a descripition of rain, thunder and storm. A heart touching one. Thanks for sharing.......10
Truly a lovely description of rain, but the last line tells where he heart of the poet lies. Plaint of the homeless can only be heard by a sensitive poet like Valsa. Thanks for sharing, Valsa.
Clouds carrying rain bestow peace upon Earth. The heaven grows much darker. Leaves flow tenderly. A great imagery is drawn basing on perception. We hear the plaintive ballad of the homeless and this provokes thought. A perception of grief and joy is shared here....10.....Thank you very much for sharing this poem Madam Legend Star Valsa George.
