So is life; when the wrong thing is done. But, let us seek for the ways of the truth and live in peace with each other. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

A Socratic write, indeed, Vidi...and my sentiments as well.Too many of us pass-on opportunity either out of the 'ole proverbial ''fear of failure'', or worrying too much about not living up to others expectations of us...We are reluctant to take that leap of faith...that calculated risk, ergo....we become inmates of our own make-shift social prison, we recluse, and in doing so, we never realize our maximized potentials.Sometimes we must be bold, and take a firm stand... politely yet with unfettered conviction. We need to voice-up and let others know we are here...and want to be part of the show, so to speak....My Dad always liked to quote a very old cliche which i am sure you have heard before: He'd say: ''Don't stand on the corner & watch the parade pass you by, Frankie''...''Let them know you belong with the marchers'''. Excellent penning...Message well delivered, young lady! F j R

The concluding lines are thought provoking. I think even silence can be read through silence. More of making noise can amount to noise-pollution, yes?

hi Vidi i suppose thats how it is ordained and we should give in gracefully like we give in to greying hair and the other bits of ageing the pain cannot be lessened or philosophised...just endured beautiful poetry cheers and ten... BTW enjoyed your comment on shans poem cheers XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Vidi Writes (6/20/2009 12: 11: 00 PM) A lotus placed at porch in the bud vase A rose floating in the village pond Harry Potter leaving the wizard world And has come to live on the earth. What a mess up? Then how is that to leave Right things at right place? I too wonder with you... Potter or Voldemort Should take their own places As well as YOU. After this wonderful express of disgust Now go in search of Mount doom To destroy all those rings Which pestered you all the way through. What a wonderful art of expression Your style is very well appealing. Enjoyed the read so much.

Well this is a great write indeed... Frankly speaking ma'am how ever much we try to stay independent....in some point in our life we will be used and exploited....... and life is one big theatre indeed... 'Macbeth says 'Life is but a walking shadow......tale told by and idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing' well in that case i feel we al are just bunch of idiots telling a stupid tale...well that s how i generally feel...Macbeth is disintegrated character and i m sort of a disintegrated character too..... if we look at it in a positive state of mind, what matters is how we perform on this stage...are we gona be puppets and Muppets? or we gona end up being great characters that have iron spines and iron fists that we will be the heroes and heroines in this action packed drama? ! ! ! ! i v none actually though i made such a grand eloquent comment, sort of a incongruous me making such a comment, cause i m all but mere muppet lol.... great write ma'amA+++ With Love shan

! We're used, when we are young, its the price we pay for knowledge when in our prime, we're on our own, to ourselves we do acknowledge children come, we give way, our dreams are for our young they leave the nest, we are alone, it seems our job is done

To use and to be used. Life is a stage, a game to play in life's stage...interesting philosophy to ponder on debatable theme...well if we allow people use us then we should never complain. However, we are just letting those people abuse us and tolerating their self interest...Hence, they won't learn from their mistakes...its like growing old without wisdom at hand....Thanks! ! ! 10+++

it is a paradox. poets write, as they have thin skins, feel more with great sensitivity. writing is like meditation. once you have written and posted, then one must show some sportsmanship. that requires thick skin, you have to take brickbats with accolades. Criticism if healthy, should be taken in stride, if not best ignored. every thing we take up has occupational hazards. I expressed my views on this in Hunter or the Hunted. YOU HAVE WRITTEN A THOUGHT PROVOKING POEM, in your inimitable style on a sensitive issue. 10 Mamta

while reading your poem the following verses from Holy Quran came to my mind: 'Allah is with those who restrain themselves.' [16: 128] 'And if you punished, let your punishment be proportionate to the wrong that has been done to you; but if you show patience, that is indeed the best course. [16: 126] 'The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto: but if a person forgets and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah.' [62: 40] very daring and yet philosophical way of taking on the world...well done

A poem is incomplete till it is commented and read. The show must go on even with little audience.Remember, when the goin gets tough, only the tough gets goin.We don't need any great anecdote or philosophical hint to paint our own path.....of living.Good writes Vidi!

No paradox to be found here...and no need (if it were) to explain your stance on any issueyou choose to write on. The confusion & (IMO) misperception that gets'tossed' around this site, (in the forum, particularly) is the incessant opining on what a Poet owes the Reader...Most here feel that in one way or another there lies some form of obligation. And even though this seems to be a majority, if not the popular view...I Say & always have....: ''A poet & his/her work is accountable to one person...HIS/HER self, period. No exceptions, no go betweens''. Now, that said, Vidi, ...this position can & does open up a pandora's box now & then for some brutal & downright personal attacking...And that is why many choose to write & post on the poem-post-line, but not in the forum...One requires a thick coating of leather-like skin if they are going to do what i think everyone should do....WRITE FROM YOU, FOR YOU & NOBODY ELSE., EVER....! BTW; Even the very best of our classic Poet's had raging arguments, that i hear-tell actually resulted in ocassional fist-fights at public recital halls. Vidi, as a rule, Poet's, real Poet's are very sensitive & closed-minded birds who fly to the arena with '''on-the-offensive''' arrogance & with the prejudgement that every new face in the arena must be initiated, or more apropriately put...verbally flogged. However, like being the new kid on the block, or the rookie on the local team, or in attempting to be accepted by any clique...if you think about it...Isn't it the same? So, what should the new kid do, the rookie do, & those wanting IN to the neighborhood or school clique? They ahould weigh in & take so much...defend themselves with wit & a solid sense of acumen...and never waver on their position, whether it is the popular stand or not.... BTW: As i am a Writer, and not a Poet, my viewpoints on Literature are both eccentric & very exclusive...as not many subscribe to my poetic ideaologies, and in fact i, have found myself in the hotpur middle of a few oven-heated arguments in defending my right to my opinion. But over the past 3 years, (i think) i have established a degree of respect, if not agreement from the forum arrogants...[not that i need nor desire their acceptance]...as despite their thinking...the forum is NOT theirs, mine, yours, or any one persons...It is this websites...and we have the commodity to have our written voices heard.... No, Vidi...your above work is not a paradox...but instead a paragon of what this site can stoop to... in some of its finest minds allowing ego & paranoia to blight the whole reason as to why they are here on PH.in the 1st place...Intimidation & the sense of feeling threatened are what fuels those on this site who toss...but don't catch very well...Yet they are the 1st to jump at their victims who retaliate by saying...hey...you gotta' hav' thick skin...it's nuthin' personal.......And, to that I say: YES IT IS...but only because they made it so! I like this piece a lot, Vidi, as it speaks YOU...and that's what YOUR poetry is all about...YOU! FjR
