You have asked a big question - a profound one. Yes. There is a difference. When the one that has gone is close, the pain is more. The size also matters. No one concerns oneself with the death of an ant or a fly. But the death of a pet or a close relative brings in a torrent of sobs. Life is like that. Good write.
Yours is a genuine doubt.... Unfortunately even our sobs are conditioned! Discrimination continues from birth to the grave! But we cannot help it! The death of a dear one affects us more than the death of a distant one which is quite natural....! It all depends! A very logical write!
