A Paris Proposal Poem by Nissi lunga

A Paris Proposal

Blissful blinks of lights at
Arc de Triomphe.
Dressed for the season in an
unfamiliar city, hospitality of an invitation.

A shadow caught her attention...
swamped street but saw one.
As he drew near,
trembles in fear as he came to the light.
Grasped by relief as she ran into
his arms.

The night was still young,
he smiled softly as she glared
at his face with curiosity.
Pulled her hand as they stamped off,
she whispered 'Petit ami' as he went deaf.

At Louvre their footsteps made noise.
Looked into her eyes as
his one knee met the ground,
his hand dived into his pocket as
he redeemed a diamond ring.

'Veux-tu m'e'pouser? ' escaped his lip.
Engulfed with excitement 'oui' as she wore
it and he welled up as they osculated,
with the moon bearing witness.
