A Painful Prayer Poem by Victor Oyedele

A Painful Prayer

Life is moving at a slow pace
But, everything is coming fast
Slowly, I'm losing my grip on
life, the one I'm holding on to
Like I'll never lose.

Your life would be better, just pray
Every second spent on my knees
Should feel like a burden released
But, the weight keeps telling on me
I'm losing my life.

My sanity is losing out
Take all the time, they said to me
But time is taking all of me
The love, the life that i wished for
Is walking away.
