how to end a poem is an intricate business which calls for self-discipline and intellectual maturity. ending the poem with a wish for not ending it (dream) is very effective for creating an echo. music composers, even to this day, do not know how to end a music, except to stubbornly striving for some kind of noisy and childish grand finale. they have something to learn from a poet.
