A New Day (Sonnet #218) Poem by Tina Baaklini

A New Day (Sonnet #218)

When dewdrops whisper to roses their secrets
When early lovebirds shyly start to hum
When nightingales solemnly go to rest
My heart and I look forward for things to come.

Each new day holds bright and sweet surprises
We just need to have faith, believe, then wait
The sky opens its gate at sunrise
To bless humanity with gifts from fate.

As I look at you, Love, I breathe in relief
Never had I imagined for such a bliss
Through rocky mountains love finds a way indeed
I start the day with your tender eyes and kiss.

May we embrace each day with hope, with love,
May we labour, learn, and worship God above.
