A New Day. Poem by Viola Grey

A New Day.

Rating: 4.6

I'm lost without a reason to face each day,
curtains drawn bring uncertainty
as sleeps warm emrace turns cold
inside a moon's final farewell.
Why rise? Why even open eyes,
sewn shut with fear of new light,
when darkness cradles desires
and allows dreamers to lie to themselves.
Fall back, sunrise, please fade
into the dew kissed grass,
I wish to stay entangled
within his cool moonlit smile,
I long to remain inside his sleeping eyes.

A well written poem. It's hard to wake from the comfort of night or our dreams, even to slip out of a lovers arms to start the day. It was a sensitive warm poem. Good work

Beautiful poem, there are times when we would all like to stay asleep rather than face the world.

So true Viola! I could often keep my eyes shut and wish the day would go away! Great piece. Mark
