Dear Rory and Ruth This poem challenges our idea about the 'sanctity' of art, music and poetry. In the context that we are beings who are essentially conditioned in this life and in the collective mind that has a history of centuries, then everything is a matter of conditioning and when we dropp all that conditioning, we can see that even poetry and art are mere conditioning. Therefore poetry is mere froth on the coffee cup of living.
Mere froth on the coffee cup of living? Im afraid I can't agree - to me it's deeper than that. Living is more like froth on the coffee cup of poetry. But the rest of it is well expressed!
A memory brings poetry, A sentiment A crime but most of all A beautiful mind. Ruthy: -)))
Dear Sir, I agree, the froth makes coffee look delecious and tempting so as the poet makes a poem look tempting - the reason varies from creating revolution to anything.....whether its authorized poet or holy poet, as far as poem can ignite positive energies in one's life, the poem is a good poem and the poet is a good poet! Thanks 10.
