This poem means quite a lot to me, I have two sons and your poem touched upon so many wonderful things experienced just by loving and having them. Very emotional, touched my heart and brought tears of inner joy to my eyes. Absolutely brilliant poem your words flow into the ocean of my intellect. Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic collection of a mother's reality. Beautiful, awe-inspiring. RoseAnn

The last two lines reminded me of these words from Malcolm Gladwell's book: Geniuses have a perverse tendency of growing up in adverse conditions. Our mothers' mistaken over-emphasis or neglect of certain areas, gives us our uniqueness and ultimately productiveness.

Days, weeks, and months Were the only teachers. This is simply brilliant, Almeida: time is the wonderful teacher who arranges everything so that everything is in place at the right time, specified by time, and all parts of the foetus live in perfect harmony. This is an important fact of life too. I enjoyed the poem but these two tines in particular in the context of the life of the foetus.

Womanhood culminates into glorious motherhoodness... ‘…My love isn’t something you have to earn. You are flesh of my flesh...’ In Sanskrit it is said Atmaja [originates from Atman] …spontaneity is the charm in Mom… where no getting [except rapture] …only giving…and in Indian culture [scripture too]…Moms are in hierarchy highest…. Thanks Ma’am for sharing 10++ Ms. Nivedita UK

Almedia, I know what you mean about the first child and how time teaches us. It was the hardest job I have every done. I think having children should be made into a subject at school to prepare new parents how to manage etc. I like the way you say your son 'earned his dreams' and one of the most important aspects is to 'know we are human and make mistakes too'! You have written this with warmth and love. 10 Karin Anderson
