I love 'story' poems, and this is an excellent one! You haven't read my 'Lennonesque' by any chance, have you? :) No..probably not! : (

Academy Award winning poem, dear friend. This piece carries the reader along through the dimly lit passage way and right to the caution tape with the still open unseeing eyes of the vixen lies. Very Nice Be Well

the poem is full of compassion, expressed poignantly. what drives people over the brink is a big question. somehow i feel it requires courage to live as well as to end life like this. thanks mamta

Dee, this is indeed a sad piece. What makes it sadder is when you ask why do people feel so lost to do such a thing to themselves. There is never an answer, at least not one that I could ever fathom out. Top marks and thanks for sharing a poem with compassion. David

Suicide is such a tough circumstance... especially when it someone who once seeminly had so much more than us. As always, you show compassion and pen a great poem. Zen

Dee, Wow! , That is pretty morbid! I guess the good news is... no firearms involved and she didn't try to take some innocents along! It is a good thing that you found her, when you did though, but, I am a tad concerned that you identify that much with her! B.V.A.

She probably wished she had a cigar to smoke... It's sad when the road ends.

Wow, talk about a bring-me-down. But can we really ignore that question, about last thoughts? The imagery is great in this one. Definitely top-notch penning, as they say. And definitely thought-provoking.
