An abuse of marriage is against the will of God. Marriage that lasts a lifetime glorifies the Almighty. Splendid poem....10+++

Happy childhood contributes in making one into a happy man or woman. I love the poem but am confused whether it is a modern love story, or one of old days! In modern days, I have seen many men turn into parrots to avoid quarrels and cataclysms.

Thank you for reading and letting me know it was not clear to you- it helps to know when one has been missing the target. The woman tries to please the man at first because she loves him then in time only so he won't be so angry and displeased with her...The onlookers know that theirs has never been a happy union for he is the type of man who cannot be pleased. A sad tale indeed

Part 1/ excellent poem, writing little and good quality, We are happy to see your new poem, as usual it is professional poem it sheds light on the long relationship but in symbolic and metaphor ways, with very funny and strong ending.. Now she is a parrot nodding her head Hopefully in time before his face grows red

Soram, it pleases me to no end when a poem of mine touches your heart and mind- you make me feel welcome to write as few or many as I can given my huge writing schedule with my series of novels.

Part 2 Really you are right, A life of adventure is good health food for the imagination of a writer, but the life itself will be an adventure for most of us in some points, not every poets can use the food metaphor in the right place successfully, but thankfully our dear poet Susan did, furthermore even both can be parrot and eventually nodding their head for each.. well done Susan 10/10 it is great piece of work.. add to my fav list as well

This one goes straight to myfavourites! I see the red as jealousy...unfounded, but present. It's destroying even the simplest of activities in this couple's life. I suspect even the parrot will not be enough to make it subside. Brilliant, Susan, and a perfect 10!

When a man and a woman with different tastes come together in marriage, there is always the chance of quarrels and exchange of harsh words. The redness coming to the man's face is suggestive of anger and unpleasantness! To avoid a brawl, she turns into a parrot, not uttering anything, but nodding to his whims in a mechanical way. There is neither love nor life. You have cleverly drawn an impressive picture of modern love.

Thank you, Valsa, You have no idea what it means to have a woman of sensitivity and intelligence read a poem and see right to the heart of the situation and people. You are an astute poet as well as possessing a pen that spins magic spells

Life does not guarantee Happy love stories No matter how much We dream of them Or in romantic films Happy endings see, Unfortunately... The ambiance, in this very well written poem is tense, the color red heightens the sad unhappiness and denounces the offense of lack of love. So sorry.

There are way too many marriages of this type- even if it is: " : only" the bullying type. The corona-virus is also bringiing out the nasty in people. Thank you for your always astute comments

A Modern Love Story is the real title- PH wanted to jam the words together and while changing it in some places, it refuses to change it here. But then again, some day I will return to it and they will have restored its original title. Sigh.

They finally fixed the title- -but now I look silly for complaining about a corrected title. Really and truly fir a while it read Amodernlovestory! ! !
