Loneliness brings us to our knees, killing us with it's emptiness and abandonment. So aptly portrayed as a slow poison, it follows us throughout life after loss! Absolutely profound, Amitava! To experience this depth of loneliness you have to have gone through it first hand, or you will not understand it's poison! Excellent message, Amitava! Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
Loneliness a slow poison never stops to attack. Fortunately God has given us a gift to be happy. We keep on opening that silent box too again and again. Beautiful poem.
I am so fortunate to never have experienced this. I love company yet also enjoy being alone. Your words have been beautifully expressed and moving they are. Take good care.

I have suffered from the poison of loneliness and it's definitely not an 'ice cream stick.' It definitely is: Very venomous and destructive it is That poisons and kills you slowly. Your poem is a very powerful and accurate description of loneliness and its pain.
Thank you dear Darlene for appreciating my poem.
