This poem that can be taken either literally (theatrically perhaps) or metaphorically. Speaking as an actor, I have never lost my love of the spotlight. You learn to 'feel' for the light on stage - it's almost like a spiritual search - and the intensity of the light somehow mirrors the intensity of the performance.
