A Loving Encounter (Sonnet #152) Poem by Tina Baaklini

A Loving Encounter (Sonnet #152)

Love found me and took me to your soft heart.
To this tender heart you belong, love said.
And your heart seemed familiar from the start,
No wonder that soulmates are one by fate.

Do take good care of his heart, love warned me.
He loves you more than anyone on earth.
True hearts are scarce; love him devotedly.
Be affectionate in deeds; speak with mirth.

Your hearts are temples of God, love added.
Keep the words of God alive between you.
God has sown love between you; honor it.
Do not cheat nor deceive. Be honest, true.

Before leaving us, before his farewell,
Love smiled at both: we'll meet again, be well.
