FROM off a hill whose concave womb reworded
A plaintful story from a sistering vale,
My spirits to attend this double voice accorded,
And down I laid to list the sad-tuned tale;
Ere long espied a fickle maid full pale,
Tearing of papers, breaking rings a-twain,
Storming her world with sorrow's wind and rain.

William Skakespeare and Victor Hugo were two great writers and poets of the last centuries, I, Hebert Logerie, would like to be among the great creative poets. It is a shame that poetry, at times, is a subjective thing. One needs to be well connected and also having a great audience reading and reciting your crafts is essential

Addition: CONGRATULATIONS for being chosen as The Classic Poem Of The Day, Hurray! We are, I am very thankful to Poem Hunter and Team to present this on the Homepage again. An epic poem, but still an enjoyment to read this money-making poem in his time. William Shakespeare stories are oft Most beautiful, always about a lover
the poet asks the question, but whose interest is this? WS made this poem, certainly in time of his lack of money, because just like all other playwrights of his time, more pages yields more money. Certainly not from artistic inclinations, but he earns his living with words, more words, more money. WS lived in London at the time and goes to his wife and children once a month in a distant village. A true pleasure to read and enjoy! CONGRATS!
