A Lover Never Tires When The Love Is True Poem by Mohammad Younus

A Lover Never Tires When The Love Is True

A lover never tires when the love is true—
Each breath, each step calls, O endless You.

Like a fish in water, I cease to ask
Where ends the stream—O endless You.

Did the brush ever flee the painter's hand?
Did Majnun ever quit? O endless You.

Night and day, he whispers, I am Layla—
His voice dissolves in O endless You.

Love is fire, burning the self to ash,
Yet from the embers sighs, O endless You.

The lover is silence, yet radiant, bright—
Each hush resounds, O endless You.

He sees no face, only the soul's pure flame—
No mirror reflects O endless You.

Truth scorns all names, and meaning slips through—
No word can hold O endless You.

He flows with the river, born of its song,
Surrendering to O endless You.

Return to the water—return, O heart!
This world withers without O endless You.

Drown in the tide of Divine embrace—
Let the self fade in O endless You.

As you whirl in the dance of its sacred tune,
Let the steps remake you, O endless You.

Without Your rain, the earth turns stone—
My soul is dust without O endless You.

I saw gardens bloom where Your shadow passed—
What springs await O endless You?

Your gaze walks with Solomon's might—
Temples rise aflame for O endless You.

Prophets drank from the light of Your Name,
Yet depths still veil O endless You.

A thousand moons bow in silver grace—
Each a glimmer of O endless You.

Even stars pause, hushed, to hear
The silent echo of O endless You.
