I have seen many times during my childhood, when a suhagan (a woman whose husband is alive) died she was made a bride before her funeral. That is one of the beauties of Indian culture. You have nicely painted a picture of this centuries old tradition.

Ah, funeral...how painful for the hubby and at the same time...how mournfully joyous to bid adieu to her fulfilling her last wishes. Pathos......tears...in abundance.

Hello Geetha I have seen many beautiful people sleeping peacefully in their casket. I used to sing to them all when I polished their caskets, just them and I in the room. I often wondered if they were wanting to say Do you mind not singing....... As always I love your words Geetha
