My dad arrived in Halifax
Mum, Ellis Island
They met in Windsor, ON
My dad used to follow her on High Street
While she getting pastizzi
For my grandfather
He went to Toronto in a rooming house
That my aunt and uncle owned
My dad noticed my mum's picture
In the parlour room
And mentioned he saw her before
They invited him to a weekend there
The three of them headed to Windsor
They talked in Jackson Park for the day
And a month later, he was there again
Six months later, they got engaged
Another six, they were married
And after three kids
They lived in love for fifty nine years
And they both in heaven
Watching us there
What a beautiful family portrait, so marvelously and with so much natural affection, said! Stays with us.
Great love story. And the aptest day to remember them
Fantastic write throughout.... like it.... thank u... LeeAnn.....
