That's a beautiful love song that I would sing along to. It reminds me of a song I used to sing by Jim Croce...and I read your poem to his melody. The words and the sentiment are just right. None of us get to stay forever, but I hope you get to stay as long as possible. Its good to be grateful for what is right in this life. Take care.
Thanks Pamela. This was the last poem in one of my self published books - Horizons. I see one of my oncologists on Monday and the other on Wednesday. It has been a year and a half since I was diagnosed.1 to 5 years is the life expectancy so the clock is ticking. I am dealing with it and my poetry is the main thing that helps me to cope.
Wowww. lovely song, full of warmth n exuberance, depicting contentment n a zest for life. I like how you go back to your past n put in bits n pieces from childhood. You give a glimpse of your whole life in a single poem. Remarkable. A10
Thanks Nosheen. Perhaps I should write more like that. I'll see what I can do.
