Anne, this is the 3rd time I've typed my comment on your poem. Am I writing more than this site allows? Your poem is confident that something in the universe will protect the fragile beauty and it will prevail. That's the faith in goodness your poem gives me.
Nicely crafted poetic expression abd feelings.Heart touching.10+
Lovely lines that are both creative and captivating!
the butterfly flutters apparently without purpose the butterfly in beauty rides unseen breeze wind currents the butterfly in time heartbeat flight on fragile wings flutters glides the butterfly knows loves sunshine gentle changing skies the butterfly kisses scent light beams paradise
because the lines and imagery in the poem 'A Lost Butterfly' by Anne Yun was so beautiful I did not write a comment, I wrote a poem in tribute; now it is appropriate I title the poem and paste it below A Ghesia Walks In Flutter Butterfly Flight the butterfly flutters apparently without purpose the butterfly in beauty rides unseen breeze wind currents the butterfly in time heartbeat flight on fragile wings flutters glides the butterfly knows loves sunshine gentle changing skies the butterfly kisses scent soft light beams paradise Copyright © Terence George Craddock Inspired by the poem 'A Lost Butterfly' by the poet Anne Yun. Dedicated to the poet Anne Yun.
I have two friends Robert and Sonja who rescue Monarch Butterfly eggs, take them home, incubate them, feed them milkweed and when the chrysalis opens and the Monarch appears, take them outdoors and release them to freedom! ! I have been collecting butterfly poems for them and yours is now in this collection. In your poem the butterfly is more symbolic than real and seems to represent the speaker standing at the very beginning of her life, poised to plunge into the world like a new born creature. Everywhere she looks she sees beauty and wonder, her own self a part of them.
What a great thing your friends are doing, truely admirable! 'I wish i could be a butterfly, live but three summer eves', John Keats said this, I loved it, so i wrote this. I am she, i am also the butterfly, I couldn't help wishing to be the beauty i see or imagine.
There is a good combination of nature and self-awareness in this poem. One point to keep in mind, please split the poems into stanzas. It will be easier for us to get sense.
:) I wanted to be she and also the butterfly in the same time while i was writing this.
I enjoyed the different positions of the speaker, the refraction of life, and feflection of oneself. Your depth is wonderfully graceful. O. P.
