A Long Burning Log Fire On A Cold Winter's Evening Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Long Burning Log Fire On A Cold Winter's Evening

Rating: 5.0

chill winter winds can blow knife blade keen
cutting skin flesh to flayed bone when winter bites
childlike we wish for shelter friendly fireside heath
comfort companionship safe as warm as wonderful
as a long burning log fire on a cold winter's evening
would be good to take a rest a hot restoring drink
rest read books or verse to share liked passages lines
to reflect on past passions memories still warming

the heart to draw into long moments of meaning
perhaps surrender into heart soul deep embraces
dare cross the line into love the ultimate question
would decades of time be to short to define a lifetime
learning loving as two heartbeats share eternities in time
a dream of life enfolded heats drives out chill winter winds

the heart to draw into long moments of meaning perhaps surrender into heart soul deep embraces.....beautiful the sestet; life is recoiling in the heart of dream, hope, desire, feelings, passion, like, love.........! this feelings is binding with imagination; sometimes this imagination leads to the ultimate goal of it though there is no ultimate stoppage of desire, demand of mind yet on the coil of love life finds some tranquil, peace of living traffic jam!
