What can I say? Your picturesque language and underlying morals make your poems compulsive reading. You are able to see beyond the superficial and draw the reader's attention to something much, much deeper. Absorbant eyes? You have these. Love, Fran xx
This poem had me in a quandary Vincent, the imagery of the lovers in the 1st verse seemed odd, with backs arching towards the sky they would be looking downward, so towards the earth? There are some stark and truly observed images throughout the poem, but from my point of view, making Romeo and Juliet as blackened as you consider humanity, seems taking away all hope. Which is not something I consider a good thing. After all love equates to R & J and love is what we need more than anything in this world, wouldn't you say? I loved the awareness in the verse about the old man. Age does not absolve us from sin, only we can forgive ourselves for that. Age is no shelter at all from what I have experienced and seen. All we can do is forgive ourselves and try to be better people in each and every new day. A very thought provoking poem Vincent. Thanks for sharing it. Smiling at you, Tai
