perhaps a female yellow-rumped warbler? perhaps an immature individual? perhaps an anomaly? perhaps too much schnapps? some find finding and holding onto happiness easier than others do. i do not seek happiness, but contentment. i think i would be disappointed if i felt i had to be happy in order to be content. did you know that depression/sadness can sometimes be cured by careful applications of pizza and ice cream to one's diet? ? this shall be my second pick of yours for June 2016 showcase on my PH site. thanks for letting me borrow some. bri :)

Yes, a yellow-rumped warbler! And you are a philosopher as well as a poet, bird watcher, and gourmet! I shall take your wisdom to heart and your pizza and ice cream to belly. Thanks!

A very observant view of a bird and comparing it with elusive happiness that seems to be always in flight. I enjoyed reading this poem as I love watching birds too (they fascinate me) .
