A light that burns twice as bright,
Burns only half as long.
A terrific phrase so poetic indeed,
And I believe is wrong...
A poet's spark dies,
Darkness looms where once was light.
Then like the magical Phoenix,
Is reborn to glow twice as bright.
Ethereal things in poetry.
Never shall truly die.
All to remain eternal,
We never should ask why.
Thank you Rose Marie for your most kind and uplifting gracious comment. Take care and I wish you well and the loved ones around you and stay enriched.
I like the metaphor of the Phoenix. I think it is key motif from mythology...rising from the ashes of its own destruction; it's something I return to again and again. Anyway it's a Battle of the Planets fiery phoenix inspired 10 from me!
A beautiful poem embedded with thoughts that spark like diamonds. Absolutely true. Ethereal things never die. The ultimate stanza says it all. Another excellent write woven and delivered by a true and dedicated Poet. Onto my Poem List.

Than you Dominic and ah yes The Battle of The Planets! How could I forget that one, only a few years ago I found out that the original series was truly uber-violent, made in 1972 Japanese Anime and we Brits had a watered down and heavily cut and re-edited version. I believe the original may sell on Amazon. Thanks again Dominic and I wish you well and G-Force too!
