A Life So Free Poem by Woru Sulyman

A Life So Free

A life without worry—that's the dream,
Freed from want, from the grind of routine.
A life unbound,
City or village—
It matters not.

How I long for a life so free.

Aimless steps by whispering streams,
Wandering where the hills quietly call.
Sleeping where dusk folds the sky,
Waking to dawn's soft promise.

How I long for a life so free.

I'd eat from a fisherman's net,
Roast corn beneath the shea tree's hush,
Drink from hand-hewn wells—
Simple joys, deeply full.

How I long for a life so free.

I'd walk beside a sweet dark maiden,
Her skin lit by the moon's slow gaze.
Her smile, a fire that stirs the stillness,
Guides us to flee the clang of endless days,
To reclaim the peace haste has stolen.

How I long for a life so free.

Not to run, but to remember—
Such a life is not far,
Only forgotten,
Waiting within us,
Still, but alive.
