After reading your poem, I had to google Billie Holiday to find out who she was in order to understand your poem, after reading about her childhood and married life trauma and the sad end I could find your poem meaningful and pertinent.
Dear LeeAnn, Your tribute poem to the immortal Billie Holiday is a stroke of genius. Written in the form of a personal letter, you capture both her essence and yours. I would not be in the least surprised if this poem receives the distinction, and honour, of being voted Poem Of The Day!
