Very neat and exceptionally clever poem Dominic for you give with one hand and take with the other. A romanticists mixed feeling poem. Like an old movie star viewing the films of her golden youth, yearning a return to those halcyon days of wine and roses. A superb write and five deserved stars. Many thanks for this and take care.

Thanks Shaun...much appreciated! I thought that the best way to write about this topic was to personify the rise and fall of the counter - culture of the 1960s.

a ragged recluse, the righteous rage of hope: I like the metaphors and alliterations in this poem very much. This poem is not glitter or concrete at all, but profound and sophisticated social criticism. Thank you, Dominic!
