As easily as we give hate
A place within our heart,
With the same ease, we won't be able
To make it soon depart.
It weighs us down with every breath,
And shadows every thought,
Until we find we're battling foes
That once, we simply sought.
A day will come, when all our pain,
And every tear we cry,
Won't be because of someone else,
But hate we've let inside.
But there's a way to free the soul,
And lift this heavy load—
With kindness, patience, and with love,
The heart can heal the road.
Forgiveness melts the hardest chains,
And peace begins to bloom,
For hate cannot survive for long
Where love has made its room.
So cast it out, don't let it stay,
Release the pain it brings,
And soon you'll find your heart restored,
To welcome brighter things.
