A Journey To Forever Poem by April Humason

A Journey To Forever

It was unsung, I was so young,
Love's melody had just begun,
Wedding bells rang, joyous and sprung,
But little did I know what trials would be flung.

Life's path took turns so varied,
Married life at times felt buried,
Troubles harried, hearts grew wearied,
Yet hope still glimmered as a baby was carried.

In those moments, thoughts were hazy,
But you showed me a lady, making me feel crazy,
Selfish motives, it was never about me,
And the foundation of trust started to see cracks easy.

Slowly, we grew apart, a distance grew,
A final departure, the only thing to do,
I felt lost, with no restart in view,
But fate had a plan, something new.

Then, he came into my life, my soul mate,
I could never hate, it just felt so great,
Lucky in love, together, we navigate,
In each other's arms, forever, we celebrate.
