A Journey Not A Race Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

A Journey Not A Race

If ever you get there before me
Tarry a little for me on the way
Or proceed to greater landings on the way
But tamper not with the bridge on the river.

One by one we are on the journey
Each with time zones differently assigned
So we need not arrive same time on each milestone
But we will get there with persistent perseverance.

The first may not necessarily be the strongest
For grace speaks differently to different people
Each man, his type of grace and hurdles to cross
Determines when and how we get to the finish line
