so many jars... empty containers and wide mouths and people like me everywhere, but just a little or... very littlle! ! very very beautiful way to say. it seems some jars are not very empty
WOW...this is a brilliant idea, yes we dont have to talk much although we can talk a lot...enough with some words, i love the analogy...and yes lot of people have a jar mouth and spill everything all out and made such a mess hahahahahaha....loved it M.J
Exactly, Soul! ! ! And you actually are right about how I got the idea....someone was talking non-stop and I was watching as that person poured peas out of a jar for dinner....I did the math, and got the idea. Thanks so much.
A jar a vessel with potential to fill its contents but like a mind almost always empty thoughts are a jar Your filled with depth with just an inch, always detailed with just a line. My jars are filled with your brilliance. Fantastic M.J.!
You couldn't possibly be from Tennessee, could you? Have a look at Wallace Stevens's poem, Anecdote of a Jar.
Thank you, Lantz. No, I am not from Tennessee, but I do have fond memories of visiting that great state. I'm about to discover Wallace Stevens....
I can only handle so much laughing a day, so I enter your domain a little at a time. This one snuck up on me - I had to think it through for a second, and unfortunately was just putting coffee into my mouth when I got it. Now I'm hoping my keyboard is waterproof (coffeeproof?) - gotta go get something to clean this mess up with. Thanks! - Rich
Thanks, Rich! This is an awesome comment. So good that I was able to generate that laugh. There a few other poems I have that....well, make sure that coffee is safely out of reach. Thanks again.
Wow fine analogy u drew btw a human trait and a jar. Nicely done in brevity. Thumbs up. Great to read from u again.
To know what is inside. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
And thank you for your kind remarks, Edward. I always appreciate your insights.
oh, dear, there is a certain amount of conceit in we writers.... after all, we write thinking people will read what we have to say! ! ! ! I may very well be the widest mouthed jug here since brevity is not exactly my forte so I pour forth a lot of words.... thank you for the wry post, Mj. A 10 of course!
Susan, Thank you so very much. Yes, I am trying at times to see how much I can say in as few words as absolutely possible...Thanks so much for your support.
Wonderful explanation about a jar is shared here really. Wisely drafted interesting poem is.10
The gossips in town are usually shallow people. People who speak very little, and listen attentively, are the wise ones.
Too true, Richard, too true. The worst ones are those who confuse gossip with some kind of wisdom.
