Sudden, as a bolt from the blue,
Came down a humming bird;
Skimming down and darting up
As an ever revolving top.

Humming bird is ever adorable and this winged diminutive is denizen of the sky. Skimming down this reels round and round and this entirely amazes mind. A great imagery is drawn for this bird in this poem. This is very beautifully penned.10
A tiny, attractive bird with black and orange combination, and a long pointed beak that sets it apart as a wonderful creation of God. Loved the soft flow and the texture of this beautiful humming bird poem. A sure 10+++
I love this bird, Valsa-ji. But, unfortunately, we don't see them much in our areas. What we have is a slightly larger variety. Last year around this time I was at Tucson, Arizona, USA, where these birds are seen aplenty. In fact, at one of their aviaries, there is a special enclosure for the humming bird. There they give you wonderful scientific details about this bird's habits and movements. Your poem is a nice write. Enjoyed it. (10)
A delightful read...that tiny little bird...through your poem, I can almost see it...absolutely beautiful!
Can any other bird rival it in agility Or vie with it in its simple grace? How cute, this spirit of ‘unbodied joy’ This winged diminutive denizen of the sky! A beautiful description of a little bird.
Lovely portrait of a Humming bird, Described to perfection, A poetic and visual delight. Thanks Valse, enjoyed

It's so lovely to be reminded of the times when I have been entranced by a hummingbird. Thank you for allowing me to re-live those moments with your artistic poem.
You capture the slightness, smallness, fragility, weightlessness of the humming bird but they must also be sturdy and as your poem shows they move so fast they're ahead of the danger before it strikes. What a life - visiting your friends the flowers, gifted with nectar, replete with colors and juice - that's a celestial life! When I was a child my Dad told me dogs don't have souls - it's basic Catholic dogma - Ever since I have tried to imagine each creature's soul - Imagine how small, round, melodious and sweet this bird's soul is!
It's one of the best poems I have ever read.........Valsa.......birds are my favourite beings.......and this poem so beautifully penned does bring solace to my soul...............a ten for lovely piece

Beautiful elaboration of the tiny humming bird, arriving with the morning light at your lawn..... loved it
Enjoyed this vibrant, meticulously observed poem on a beautiful subject.
Magic bird magic poem loved it...we have breakfast daily in the garden porch and I buy 1.1/2 kg of sunflower seed weekly and boy does it pay...rainbow lorikeets, minors, parakeets bush turkeys and more, the minors love the honey from the flowered trees. How cute, this spirit of ‘ unbodied joy’ as you say.regards
