A Horrid Scream



A horrid scream assailed my ears,
While walking in the night.
Like a burning soul, crying burning tears,
And I almost took to flight.

And something ran between my feet,
That almost made my heart to fail.
And I fell back upon my seat,
As I stepped on that darned cat's tail.
