A Homage To Rural England: (Summer,2020) Poem by DM W

A Homage To Rural England: (Summer,2020)

Rating: 5.0

A black bird's sweet song
On a warm summer evening;
The scent of freshly
Cut lawns in quaint village greens;
The golden cornfields
Of Somerset and the rich taste
Of home brewed cider;
The gentle feel of breezes
On Lake Windermere:
O God bless rural England!

Very well written and presented Dominic and I can smell the scrumpy and freshly cut grass in the idyllic air. And the mention of rural England makes me think of Cider with Rosie and Last of the summer wine. A full score and I'll buy you a pint of Olde English. Or, Old Speckled Hen if that's your tipple.
