The poem brings tears to my eyes! How human beings are so inhuman? No words to say more.My homage to the girl child you describe in the poem and innumerable such children who lose their childhood by falling victim to inhuman treatment.

Part 9. A very relevant poem addressing the prevailing social evils like child labour, female foeticide, rape, murder, exploitation. Written most powerfully. Full score.

Part 7…. for more dowry persisted. But more dangerous in the male psychology of looking at women as mere body, an object. This mentality has to change. For this, we need to have a very serious relook at our education and value system. Reshape how we bring up our children.

Part 4. Although, no mention is there about dowry, even Kaalidasa mentions in Abhitjnana Shakuntalam that "A girl is a wealth which needs to be handed over to an outsider. So she has been given off. Now I am relieved as if I have returned the money somebody had entrusted with me for safekeeping ".
