While our untameable malevolence,
nurtured in shallow minds,
that see only the unsubtle surface,
is soiling our dreams of Utopia,
Wisdom has taken root
in dark, hidden places.
Unseen, it germinated
and the first puny shoots have appeared.
But the poison that permeates our discourse
threatens the survival of this frail seedling.
It must shield itself in the shade -
grow deeper roots
and stronger shoots
until the ruthless invasiveness of its maturity
becomes undeniable,
and something portentous is instigated.
