A Heart's Lament Poem by Putri Misnia Shary Bahri

A Heart's Lament

Rating: 5.0

Heartfelt feelings filtered through her mind,
Her heart was pure, like see-through glass and water kind.

He found her when he needed her, but couldn't commit
Leaving her at the edge when he needed her most, a bitter hit

He never found her valuable when she was ready to settle down
Using her as a fool, but she wasn't fooled around.

She left him without goodbye, regret always the last,
One thing she learned: she survived the deepest wound at last

Little did she know, she'd emerge stronger, wiser, and free
No more heartache, she chose to leave him permanently

Goodbye, she said, and closed the door
Permanently shut, no looking back once more

He married, but she moved on, forward and bright
Never looked back, her heart healed, a new light

Will he ever remember her? Maybe someday
If only he could see, she's not his to sway

She's moved on, and he's just a memory
A reminder of the past, no longer a part of her destiny.
