Very nice sentiment expressed here. And the philosophy behind it...I'm with you. I think this is the role of a poet. I hope that love on earth will continue to grow and grow. Thanks Sandra.

If I were not already a believer, your poem would make me one. I agree with the sentiment of your POET'S NOTES, that is, a poem to honor poets. In the first stanza you have three metaphors for poems which show why they make the poet happy - they are his friends, children of his soul and home. What you are saying is stunningly clear; it doesn't need paraphrasing. Of the three words, home is the most resonant for me. It means our poems will always provide us a safe place where we can express our deepest thoughts without fear and pursue our most pressing desires with fervor. These humble words make me proud to say I write poems. I hope many poets at POEMHUNTER have the chance to read this poem. I had to come back for a second look.

I love this poem! And the poetic spirit within shines wonderfully in every line. There are so many models for the definition of poetry and the identity of the poet. In the 20th and 21st centuries, the Poem/Poet of Witness has become very significant. But I see your poems as addressing an equally important purpose: they are Poems of the Common Experience. And this poem is your ARS POETICA stating your values as a poet and poems' value as literature. And I can say - BRAVA, POET! !

The melodies that come from the poet's heart may have the wetness of briny tears, sometimes! The knowledge that one is not alone to feel sadness is a comforting thought and lone souls find happiness in such sad songs! That is why Shelley sang- 'Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought! A sweet tribute to all poets!

Oh, yes, the peace AND TIME to write! Sandra the Muse reaches out to touch our hearts, as usual. In this instance, Sandracita, I sent you one suggestion for a minor stylistic change that I think would enhance this lovely poem.
