Beautiful poem. The joy of being a grandparent is coming of life full circle. Truly their soul resides in the grand child. Read it at Bri's wall and loved it. Thanks for sharing.
“I see the youth with his old girl friend, Desirous to taste the fruit, But her decisive refrain, What a refrain is this! ” …. poor guy! but “refrain” is a verb. how about the noun: “refrainment” (in two places) ? or use poetic license and use refrain. IS THE “WOMAN” THE “FATHER’S” MOTHER? THE “FATHER” IS HER “CHILD”? this wasn’t very clear to me. the ending was a true surprise and (though I don’t believe it) I liked it. What a POEM is THIS!
