A Good Girl Gone Bird Poem by MTHANDAZO SAMAL MKHWANANZI

A Good Girl Gone Bird

A good girl gone bad, with a heart that's turned cold,
A soul that's lost its way, with a spirit that's grown old.
She once was pure and sweet, with a smile that could light,
But now she's tainted, with a darkness that's taken flight.

She's walked the straight and narrow, but now she's gone astray,
She's chased the highs and lows, and danced with the devil's sway.
She's traded innocence, for a life of sin and shame,
And now she's left with nothing, but the echoes of her former flame.

Her eyes that once shone bright, now dimly flicker and fade,
Her laughter that once rang out, is now but a distant shade.
Her heart that once beat pure, now pumps with a toxic strain,
And she's left to wonder, if she'll ever love again.

But still she holds on tight, to the memories of her past,
And hopes that someday soon, she'll find her way back to the path.
For deep down inside, a spark still glows,
A spark that guides her forward, through the darkness that she knows.
