A Girl Named Discovery Poem by Raj Dronamraju

A Girl Named Discovery

She took you to high places
She took you to low places
And you wished you could come up with a better story about how you met

She was not tangible in the flesh and blood way
Her form was a vague outline, obscure at best
And I can't remember anything from this point on or before

I knew she had a sister named schizophrenia
With an alternate personality named January
Who breathed fire at strangers

And I knew they named newly discovered animal species on a far away island after her
But none of that mattered to what we share

Now I remember
We shared an intimate moment
Vowed to remain heroes and heroines
But let living overwhelm us
