A Gentle Word, A Heart At Peace Poem by Mohammad Younus

A Gentle Word, A Heart At Peace

A gentle word, a touch of grace,
Unlocks the heart like dawn's embrace.
A candle's glow in night's despair
Melts burdens thick as winter air.

More precious than the coin bestowed
To souls weighed down on sorrow's road;
For gold may fill an empty hand
Yet fails to heal where scars expand.

Beware the giver crowned in pride,
Whose boasts ring loud yet love deride.
Like sunlit ice, their gifts may gleam
Yet freeze the trust they dare redeem.

A hand that gives, then strikes with scorn,
Sows thorns where seeds of hope were born.
Such hollow deeds, though wrapped in grace,
Leave deeper wounds time won't erase.

But mercy's breath, like spring's soft rain,
Revives the fields long parched by pain.
Kindness, a star in Allah's skies,
Reflects His grace that never dies.

He needs no wealth, no earthly store,
Yet treasures hearts that heal, restore.
For in each deed, His patience waits
To judge the harvest of our states.

So wrap your gifts in threads of love,
Let purpose soar like wings above.
A humble seed, when gently sown,
Becomes the tree where peace is grown.

And if your palms hold empty air,
Speak words that mend, that show you care.
A whispered prayer, a tear's embrace,
Can bridge the chasms time erased.

For in the Quran's timeless verse,
'Kind speech forgives'—a universe.
So let your soul, through love, increase—
A gentle word, a heart at peace.
