A Funny Chit-Chat. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

After an arranged marriage,
a couple went to northern India
on their post nuptial vacation.
The grandeur of Taj Mahal,
a white marble mausoleum built in
the south bank of river Yamuna in Agra
by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan
swept her mind to seventh heaven.
She learnt that Taj is one amongst
the world's wonders,
a monument of deepest love of the Emperor
for his third wife Mumtaz Mahal.
The stunning beauty and the entire
location left a lasting impression
in her heart for ever.
One day the husband praised his wife,
'In working, you are my minister,
In service, you are a nurse most sincere.
In food and feeding, you are my mother,
In bed, you are a perfect and wonderful partner.
In religion, you are my best support,
In tolerance, you are like the earth.
So o' my beloved,
I love you most,
You are my Mumtaz.'
Wife said, 'My dear lover, then
You are my Shah Jahan Husband,
when are you commissioning my dream Taz?
The husband said
' I have already acquired the
requisite plot,
building pattern completed by the architect,
government has given the consent,
I am waiting only for your eternal rest.
don't you know that Taz Mahal is a tomb
built in memory of the emperor's wife
only and only after her sad demise?
