I didn't go to the movies as I did say
Instead, I helped out a friend today,
I forsaken a movie about Christianity
So, for a friend I could show my humanity.
The tickets for the movie had already been bought
Seeing the movie I had desperately sought,
It was a movie pertaining to Jesus Christ our Lord and savior
And how we should love and help our neighbor.
A friend then called me up on the phone
In his voice I could hear the desperation and moan,
He was broken down in a town many miles away from me
And he needed me to show my Christianity.
So, I contacted the Christians that I was going to the movies with
I hoped that they would not to be upset or at all miffed,
I then asked them if they wanted to help a person instead
Not, one word to me was said.
I thought instead of a movie it be better if we helped a brother in trouble
And we should help him on the double,
But, they decided they couldn't help at all
Even though they were going to pick me up for the movie at the mall.
So, then I began to think about them
And about our last sermon and how to God we sang a hymn,
But, I guess that they weren't really listening
While then their souls were glistening.
Sadly some people are are only Christians with words
And when help is needed they scatter like birds,
But, I am indeed from a different faction
I am instead a Christian, with both words and action.
