A very frightening thought so far from home and in the middle of a war. Can feel the powerlessness of the situation. Yet the power of emotion is very strong, it comes through and hits home. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

My father was bayoneted and shelled on the Somme. He died abroken down drunk tormented by muddy nightmare like you describe here years beore he otherwise might have. His war devastated generations of the family that followed. Great write Jerry thank you --Paddy
